Glenda L. (Warren) Fariss

Brownfield, Texas- Services for Glenda LaVern Fariss, 74, of Brownfield will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the 12th Street Church of Christ, Seagraves, TX with Silas Short officiating. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery at 7:00 p.m., Goldthwaite , Texas. Officiating the graveside services will be Dayton House.

She died Sunday May 13, 2018 in Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was born March 21, 1944 in Alameda, California to the late William and Naomi Cole Warren. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1962, Carlsbad, NM. She married Milton Fariss December 4, 1963 in Carlsbad, NM and moved to Brownfield in 1978. She retired from Brownfield I.S.D. after thirty-six years of service driving a school bus and working in the cafeteria. She was a member of the O’Donnell Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son Rex Allen Fariss.

Survivors include her husband of Brownfield, four sons, Kenneth on Midland, Yancy and wife Sherry Fariss of Dallas, Wayne and Julie Fariss of Deridder, Louisiana and Lance and Stephanie Fariss of Seagraves. Four sisters Joyce Gill of Lubbock, Melba Ray and husband Carl of Austin, Betha Chesser of Cameron Park, CA and Pat McNeil and husband Norm of Yakima Washington; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Ratliff Funeral Home of Seagraves, Tx. The family suggests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the Pioneer Bible Translators at 2755 West Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas 75236, with note indicating for Ministry of Yancy Fariss.
