ANTHONY ARMAND VALLIERES “Tony” On Thursday, May 20, 2010 Tony Vallieres of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of Gail Flister Vallieres; loving brother of Joseph (Rea) Vallieres, Lawrence (Sarah) Vallieres, Leslie (Jeffrey) Gress and the late Eleanor Ann Vallieres. He is also survived by nieces and a nephew; other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Armand and Eleanor Vallieres. Visitation was held at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD on Tuesday, June 1. A graveside funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 2 at 1 p.m. at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Alliance of Mental Illness, NAMI, 11720 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, MD 20852.
COLUMBIA JANE COLE, 90, of Pilot Grove, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at The Arbors of Bluff Creek Alzheimer’s Assisted Living of Columbia.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, at William Wood Funeral Home in Boonville. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bunceton Federated Church in Bunceton with the Rev. Scott Erlich and the Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia.
Columbia Jane Cook was born September 26, 1919, in Sedalia to Frederick Harvey Cook and Emma Boggs Herndon and grew up on the family farm in Beaman.
On October 22, 1944, she married Leslie Carl Cole at Fifth Street Methodist Church in Sedalia. They lived in Cooper County on their grain and livestock farm, the Circle C Charolais Ranch. They raised registered purebred Charolais Cattle, mule colts and gaited horses as well as showing Tennessee walking horses.
He preceded her in death on August 28, 1994.
Columbia Jane graduated from Smithton High School with the Class of 1937. She attended Central Business College in Sedalia and then worked at the Pettis County Extension Office. She was a Pettis County music supervisor from 1940 to b1944, traveling to 26 county schools teaching school music and giving private music lessons. For many years, she was accompanist for the Bunceton School music department, playing for music contests and programs, as well as community events. She was also an active member of PTA and Band Mothers at the Bunceton School. For more than 40 years, Columbia Jane was organist and pianist for Bunceton Federated Church, where she planned, organized, and played for Christmas and Easter programs, Sunday school and Bible school and for numerous weddings and funerals. She was a 4-H leader, secretary of the Church Women’s Society and a member of the Bunceton Bridle and Saddle Club.
Columbia Jane is survived by two daughters, Marianne Cole Fues and husband Don of Columbia, Nancy Jane Cole-Crawford and husband Preston of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jennifer Fues Sage and husband John of Boston, and Michael Fues and wife Amanda of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Fues of Columbia and Eliza and Colin Sage of Boston. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Dora Margaret Cole of Pilot Grove; two nieces, Carolyn Eichelberger of Pilot Grove and Polly Smith of Kansas City; and many cousins.
The family suggests memorials to Bunceton Federated Church c/o William Wood Funeral Home, 517 Fourth Street, Boonville, Mo., 65233.

After the reunion picnic, there will be a tour of the new Hannah Cole Primary School at 2:30 PM, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 PM. Please bring lawn chairs, if possible.

Jerrold S. (Jerry) Carton, 61, of Sedalia, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Christian Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Born May 2, 1947, in Massena, NY, he was the son of the late James N. Carton and Vera L. Sliter Carton. He was a 1965 graduate of Massena Central High School in Massena, NY and a 1969 graduate of Minneapolis College of Art and Design where received a bachelor of fine arts degree. On June 11, 2005, he married Jean A. Elder who survives of the home. He had lived in Sedalia the last three years, previously living in Marshall, and was an art therapist at Butterfield Youth Services for the last 36 years. He was an exhibitor for the Columbia (Missouri) Art League Gallery, Art St. Louis Exhibition, Missouri State Fair “Missouri 50 Exhibition”, University of Missouri, Museum of Art and Archaeology, Pahlo Art Gallery, Marshall, MO and Boone County Bank Annual Exhibition.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Tara Donovan her husband Jeff and son Trevor Donovan of Belton, MO and Carrie Marshall her husband Jason and daughters, Symone Carton and Aleksei Marshall of Springfield, MO; stepchildren, John, Justin, Ted his wife Allison, and son Kaidin, and Jake; two brothers, James M. Carton and wife, Joan of Morrisville, NY and John W. Carton and wife Jacki of Marshall; the mother of his daughters, Carol McInteer of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
