Cole County Bicentennial

The kick off for the Bicentennial of the founding of Cole County was held at Marion, the site of the first county seat, later moved to Jefferson City.  A large crowd of attendees, including the Lt. Governor and various officials, listened as Bob Priddy told the story of the Cole Family and the founding of Cole County. Mr. Priddy has been heard for many years on the radio across the region telling the history of Missouri on a daily radio program “Across the Wide Missouri.”   Bob will be at the Cole Reunion on August 9th to present a program on the Cole Family.

Photos from the event can be found here. A copy of Bob Priddy’s speech can be downloaded here.
