Patricia Kay Todd  79 of Moberly formerly of Piedmont, Mo, died December 13, 2018.  She was born September 18, 1939 in Boonville, MO to Edgar L. “Red” and Ruth (Lamm) Painter.

Pat was best known in Wayne County, Missouri as a woman who wrote about snakes and other wild things in a very popular outdoor publication, the River Hills Traveler.  She Co-founded the Traveler, alongside her husband, Bob, with whom she worked for over 30 years.  Pat loved tracking the weather and volunteered with KFVS News as a Weather Woman.  Active in the community, she also had a flare for cooking, often trying new recipes on the couples’ two children, Kim and Bo.

Pat married Robert “Bob” Todd on May 16, 1959 in Boonville, MO and he survives of the home. Also surviving are her children:  Kim Todd Dickerson and her husband Bud of Moberly, MO and Bo Todd and his wife Marjorie of Festus, MO, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Jon Painter of Hannibal, MO, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim and Don Painter.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation, which will be, Saturday, December 22, 2018 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont, MO. Memorial Services honoring and celebrating Pat’s life will follow.

Jo Frances Painter, age 92, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at North Kansas City Hospital.

Jo Frances was born in Enid, Oklahoma August 2, 1926 and was the only child of Albert L. and Irene Gettel.

Most recently Jo Frances had been a resident at John Knox Village in Lees’ Summit, Missouri for close to five years. She moved there from Blue Springs where she lived for approximately 25 years. While in Blue Springs she was very active volunteering at the Truman Library and the Vail Mansion plus working with the Independence Community Service League. She was a member of the Blue Springs Methodist Church at the time of her death.

In 1950, Jo Frances and Robert L. Painter were married, made their home and raised their two children in Pilot Grove, Missouri where Robert owned and operated the Hayes Painter Funeral Home, which is now Meisenheimer Funeral Home. Jo Frances worked alongside her husband at their business as well as being very active in the community. She was a member of the Cooper County Historical Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Otterville Garden Club as well as Wesley Chapel. She was a member of the Community Betterment organization in Pilot Grove and was involved in the creation of the Pilot Grove Park and the Community Building.

Those preceding Jo Frances Painter in death were her parents and her husband.

Surviving Jo Frances are her son Robert L Painter, Jr. and his wife Robin of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter Pamela Jeanne Wall and her husband Bill of Hilton Head, South Carolina and one granddaughter Jessica Rubinski of Charlotte, North Carolina.

A funeral service for Jo Frances Painter was held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 29, 2018 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove, Missouri with interment immediately following at Pilot Grove City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cooper County Historical Society.

Brownfield, Texas- Services for Glenda LaVern Fariss, 74, of Brownfield will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the 12th Street Church of Christ, Seagraves, TX with Silas Short officiating. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery at 7:00 p.m., Goldthwaite , Texas. Officiating the graveside services will be Dayton House.

She died Sunday May 13, 2018 in Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was born March 21, 1944 in Alameda, California to the late William and Naomi Cole Warren. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1962, Carlsbad, NM. She married Milton Fariss December 4, 1963 in Carlsbad, NM and moved to Brownfield in 1978. She retired from Brownfield I.S.D. after thirty-six years of service driving a school bus and working in the cafeteria. She was a member of the O’Donnell Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son Rex Allen Fariss.

Survivors include her husband of Brownfield, four sons, Kenneth on Midland, Yancy and wife Sherry Fariss of Dallas, Wayne and Julie Fariss of Deridder, Louisiana and Lance and Stephanie Fariss of Seagraves. Four sisters Joyce Gill of Lubbock, Melba Ray and husband Carl of Austin, Betha Chesser of Cameron Park, CA and Pat McNeil and husband Norm of Yakima Washington; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Ratliff Funeral Home of Seagraves, Tx. The family suggests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the Pioneer Bible Translators at 2755 West Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas 75236, with note indicating for Ministry of Yancy Fariss.

Ronald Mitchell, 80, of Independence, MO passed away on May 6, 2018 at Village House Hospice with his loving family by his side. Ronald was born on February 10, 1938 in Kansas City, KS to David and Mary (Caudill) Mitchell. After graduating from Baker University with a degree in Business Administration, Ronald proudly joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Ord, CA. While on leave from the Army, Ronald married the love of his life, Carol Jean Solomon. In 1970 they moved to Independence, MO. Ronald, along with his wife Carol were long time members of Christ United Methodist Church. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 17 years of service as a collector. Survivors include; wife Carol Mitchell; son David Mitchell and his wife Sonja; daughter Debbie Dillard and her husband Ken; grandchildren Trent Mitchell, Cole Mitchell, Caroline Dillard, Claire Dillard, Bryce Dillard and Grayson Dillard. At Ronald’s request Memorial Services will be private.
