1st Annual Rooted in the Boonslick Walk

We are excited to kick off our 1st Annual Rooted in the Boonslick Walk on Saturday, August 12 (the day before the reunion); a 1-mile walk to support the genealogy & preservation of Boonslick families. This event is for all friends, family, and members of the community. By participating, you would be directly contributing to the genealogy work and preservation of family graves and the development of the Cole Fort site.

Pamela Evans

Pamela Kaye Evans was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the age of 65. Pamela was born June 25, 1957, in Sentinel, Oklahoma to J.L. Fielder and Gleyna Owen. Pam attended South High School in Wichita, Kansas. She worked for several years as a medical assistant and as a physical therapist at a Wichita nursing home. Before retiring, pam worked at Walmart for 17 years as a pharmacy OTC manager. Pam is the granddaugher of Hannah and William Temple Cole. Pam was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends.

Pam was always there to brighten the lives of others. Pam left this earthly life to join loved ones whose death preceded her, including her parents Conard and Gleyna Goodrum. Pam is survived by her sisters, Dana Fielder Davis (husband Ray Davis); Lisa Goodrum Rector (husband Richard Rector); brother, Craig Fielder; husband, Robert Evans; daughter, Andrea Lagree (husband Aaron Lagree); son, Miles Evans; her grandchildren, Ceinna, Damien, Zoe, Paige, Marissa, Kaylee, Tilly and Dolly; her great-granddaughter, Ila and many nieces, nephews and friends. Words cannot fully express how much they cherish memories of days spent with Pam – memories of joy, laughter, support and unconditional love freely and frequently expressed. Pam not only had a zest for life but shared it with everyone she knew. Let us not forget her smile, her brightness, nor her contagious laughter.

Alberta Hazel Fethke

Alberta Hazel Fethke, age 80, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at her home. She was born August 19, 1941, in Fayette, Missouri, a daughter of the late Gene and Alberta (Dick) Ellison.

On December 4, 1960, at the Stover United Methodist Church parsonage, she was united in marriage to Lowell Cleo Fethke, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2020.

Hazel was a graduate of the Otterville High School class of 1959.

She was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church, joining the church in August of 1971.

She attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg. She was an accomplished writer and author also publishing a book. Hazel worked at Golden Age Living Center and also served as board president for many years. She was a 4-H leader, served on the Health and Welfare board at the Morgan County Health Center in Versailles and worked election polls for many years. She was a braille transcriber, which led to her working as a paraprofessional at Morgan County R-1 in Stover.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Holsten and husband Jerry of Florence, Missouri and Gregory Fethke and wife Luesa of Versailles, Missouri; grandsons, Schuyler Holsten and Alex Holsten and fiancée Julie Kidwell; her sister, Laura Pugh of Nixa, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristin Harris, brothers, Dennis Ellison and Frank Ellison and her sister, Bonnie Crider.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, August 23rd, in the Florence United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Vonda Veale officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kristin Fethke Harris Memorial Scholarship or the Florence United Methodist Church.
